Welcome to the website of the Friends of Schuyler Mansion.
We are pleased that you have arrived and hope that you will take the opportunity to browse our site and enjoy the information offered here about Revolutionary War Major-General Philip Schuyler (1733 - 1804), his family, and life in 18th century Albany.
To date: we are very happy to have supported Schuyler Mansion's "Salutations of the Season!" program in January, which was a tremendous success. Over 300 visitors attended the event and nearly all stopped by our Friends table in the Visitor Center to learn about the many benefits of being a member!
As we head furhter into 2012, we look forward to
continuing our support of Schuyler Mansion's special events and educational programs, including the upcoming exhibit centered on 18th century child-rearing. This year also marks the kick-off of a five year campaign to refurbish unfinished areas within the mansion in anticipation of Schuyler Mansion's 100th anniversary as a State Historic Site. Please check back as we detail some of the specific projects the site hopes to accomplish.
It promises to be a very exciting year for the Friends of Schuyler Mansion and if you were considering becoming a member, this might be a good opportunity to contribute to a grand historical project - Schuyler Mansion's 100th birthday. If you would like to find out more, we are currently planning our Annual Meeting for this May and invite you to attend the accompanying program (please check back later under "Events" for further information).
In conclusion, I invite you to participate - stop by Schuyler Mansion, join our e-list, attend some of our upcoming events, and be sure to visit us on Facebook.
